Smashworks Dance is devoted to providing accessible dance education to the New York community and beyond.
We have developed an arts enrichment curriculum adapted from our confidence-building workshops that will be shared worldwide on Commontime Online in 2024. Stay tuned!
CONFIDENCE-BUILDING DANCE WORKSHOPS
DANCE MAKER: CONFIDENT MOVERS, COMMUNITY BUILDERS
Our Confidence-Building Dance Workshops inspire confidence through dance, spoken word, and group collaboration. Through a guided warm-up, movement mantras, and choreography creation, students explore their own unique ways of moving while building self-esteem and community. We encourage students to hold space without fear, move with conviction, and celebrate their authentic selves!

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Smashworks continued our mission of providing accessible dance education to all.
We created four dance-along videos for movers of all ages.
We are grateful to have partnered with Troop 6000, a program specially designed to serve girls in the New York City Shelter System, to teach virtual movement workshops!
Leading up to the start of summer 2020, Smashworks Dance hosted virtual movement classes via Zoom (all ages and levels welcome). Each week a different Smashworks company dancer led a new class format designed to get you moving and rejuvenated during this quarantined time.
For our June classes, we raised $400 for Black Girls Smile!
