SMASHWORKS DANCE COMPANY is thrilled to announce our collaboration with HOPE SALAS PRODUCTIONS as we begin our summer theater residency at TheaterLab in NYC as one of the Hotel New Work theater recipients.

In August 2019, in collaboration with Justin Cimino (Director, Founder & Artistic Director of Pigeonholed Theater) SMASH & SALAS will be devising work that will highlight the female GIANT stars of the silent film era. Yeah, how is it that one knows Charlie Chaplin like the household word, KLEENEX, but we don’t know the incredible Alice Howell? We’ll fix that! This work, inspired by James Thiérrée, Pina Bausch & Bill Irwin, intends to intersects the control and form of the dancer, the curiosity, joy, and discovery of the clown & the inspiration of the truth seeking storyteller.
